We had our backyard and decking completely revamped by Thelma at Zones and we couldn’t be happier! Thelma was professional, helpful and honest with the design and pricing, not to mention incredibly responsive to all my texts whenever I had a query! She was an expert at managing our job from start to finish, including going out of her way to ensure our new deck was completed to the highest standard. We are so happy with our new backyard, it is an absolute pleasure to see and use.

We started off initially with hedge replanting, artificial turf, deck and louvre which rescoped to a full outdoor redesign project. When told Zones we wanted a "no maintenance" outdoor area. Thelma listened to our needs and helped us develop an outdoor area that meets our requirements. Thelma kept us informed throughout the project and was very accommodating with out last minute variations. We are extremely happy with the end result and glad we can enjoy the outdoor space.We are very happy with the service we received from Zones and highly recommend them.

We contacted Zones Landscaping after finding them online and being impressed with the catalogue of recent projects. Our initial inquiry put us in touch with Thelma, who came around to meet us in person, see the space, and talk through what we were looking to achieve, essentially being another "room" for the house and outdoor space for summer entertaining, whilst being low maintenance and works that didn't require a consent. Thelma walked us through the process, and how Zones added value through that process with sourcing of trades and management of the process. The discussion progressed to a meeting with a landscape architect to develop a concept design and talk through the options available to us, whilst also reflecting on budget implications. This was helpful in informing what we could achieve within the limited budget we had. Having an architect right there was an added benefit, being able to get immediate feedback on ideas and thoughts around finish and design.

After finalising the design and budget, Thelma got to work and programmed the works, managing the individual trades to ensure that our goal of works being complete pre-Christmas was achieved. It was great to see works commence and the trades dovetail with each other to ensure that no day was wasted, and certainly gave as an appreciation for the value that Zones and Thelma provide. She was there everyday keeping an eye on things (much to the interest of our dog). The relationships and programming of the works were elements that we underestimated and would have struggled with on our own.

Issues inevitably arose around bad weather, location of services, trenching, availability of concrete colour, and installation of drainage. These were all addressed with urgency to ensure no time was lost, and feedback was sought from us "on the spot" so the team weren't delayed, and critical items like the concrete pour were done so as not to miss opportunities with the various trades. Some of these might have been addressed earlier with a more detailed design and due diligence, but inevitably at a cost and programme impact. We had to go for it, and Thelma got us there.

We are more than happy with the outcome, and it has achieved the key deliverables that we sought. We stretched the budget to include a few extras, which were well worth it. We only wish we had a bit more budget to take advantage of Thelma and her team to fulfill our complete wish list! One day.

I had come to believe that I would never be able to change the outside area of my house or feel proud of the way our section looks from the street, but I have changed my belief since meeting Thelma. A previous attempt to engage another company to improve our property had failed as they disappeared once they had taken a look at the job. As we lack the skills to do just about any of the landscaping and fencing tasks ourselves, and little faith in any type of contractors, we are incredibly relieved to have Thelma looking after our project.

Thelma contacted us promptly after our initial enquiry with Zones and setting up a briefing meeting was very easy. At our meeting Thelma spent a lot of time listening to my ideas and trying to understand what it is that I want. Thelma has knowledge and experience when it comes to design and I know nothing, but I did not feel like an idiot talking to her. Thelma respected me and worked with my ideas rather than against them, and she seemed genuinely interested in what I was hoping to gain.

I appreciate that we were able to get a simple concept plan completed and then a quote without a lot of delay. I also appreciate that it wasn’t a problem when I made a change to the plan. I’m absolutely thrilled to now have a start date and completion date way ahead of what I imagined when I made my initial enquiry. We have had plenty of communication with Thelma by email, text, phone, and in person which gives us a lot of confidence that she has the drive and capability to get the project completed as we have planned together.
