Pool Perfection: A True Facelift of a Central Auckland Backyard

Leaks, plumbing, and drainage issues from Amy and Ged's front yard pool had been plaguing Glendowie homeowner, Amy, for years, so when the time came to replace her old linear pool and improve the indoor-outdoor flow of her Central Auckland space, she welcomed the expertise of Zones® Landscaping Consultant, Thelma Meyer.

Amy’s vision was to create a bigger, better, and more functional space and surrounding poolscape by reducing the pool and the placement of a new concrete / fiberglass pool. Thelma embraced Amy’s vision but it wasn’t long before the project faced significant challenges. Demolition, excavation, backfilling, and geo-engineering services would all be needed to achieve their vision, so a complete makeover of the existing pool was chosen as a more viable option. This included an aluminium frame and jacks built on top of the existing terracotta tiles surrounding the front yard pool.

So, by replacing the liner and upgrading the plumbing and electrical and pool surrounds, giving the area a complete facelift.  

The result is a total transformation of Amy’s front yard poolscape, with modern coping, improved flow, and greater use of outdoor space. A new pergola, planting, and outdoor lighting have added to the ambience. Thelma has also ensured the location, electrical prep work and extra support to carry the weight of a future spa that will be added in the near future. to her stylish new sanctuary.
