Zones designed a stunning multi-level rose garden for these Browns Bay homeowners to enjoy.
When landscaping specialists Tracey and Glen Barker first visited this Browns Bay property, the land had plenty of potential but was in need of some weeding, a new design and a planting plan. Tracey and her team worked with the homeowners to create a design which suited their taste and property.
Developing a new landscape design
“These clients wanted to completely change their gardens and create some amazing outdoor spaces”, explains Tracey. “We did a concept design for them which incorporated a lot of different areas, one of the main ones being stone walls to create a rose garden, as the client was a rose enthusiast.”

After presenting her clients with their new garden design, Tracey and her team got to work - with Tracey managing every detail. Before work could begin, the landscape needed to be cleared - including some of the large trees which were scattered around the property. A paved patio was installed before the team moved on to the main feature: a carefully designed rose garden.
Stone retaining walls were built to the side of the driveway and the rose bushes were planted at different levels - creating an exquisite sight for the homeowners to come home to each day. For easy garden access, steppers were installed.
The final result
As the design specifications were quite elaborate, the homeowners are yet to complete the entire project. Until then, they have a lovely rose garden to enjoy. Tracey says the stone walls are the standout features.

For those considering a similar design, Tracey emphasises that it’s the smaller details that can be used to really enhance a garden’s appearance.
“Think carefully about plant choices. Also, consider lighting with such an elaborate garden; to show it off at night!”
