The owners of this Mount Wellington home knew their backyard had potential but needed expert help. Auckland Central Zones Landscaping Consultant, Monique Nielsen, was able to transform the family’s backyard into a versatile and enjoyable space perfect for entertaining, relaxation, play, and gardening. The stunning result includes raised vegetable gardens and lush planting that provides both privacy and a green vista to look out onto. A bees, birds, and butterfly garden was created for the children to tend to as their own garden space. The trampoline area is designed to be swapped out for a spa pool in the future, when it's no longer of use for the children. As the plantings around it mature, the family can enjoy their own private tropical corner. However, the pièce de résistance is the louvre system that closes automatically when it starts raining. Complete with an infrared heater and outdoor lighting, this space is now the ultimate outdoor lounge to be enjoyed all year round.
