Will Zones take care of any required council consent?

Your Zones landscaping specialist will ensure your driveway installation complies with the Building Code and all local regulations. If your project includes significant earthworks, retaining walls higher than 1.5 metres or fencing higher than 2.5 metres, consent will likely be required. Your landscaping specialist will advise you on any building or resource consent requirements during the design stage of your project and will take care of any consent applications for you.

What are my driveway options?

Your budget will likely play a large role in the type of driveway you opt for. Asphalt and gravel are among the most affordable options. Asphalt lasts up to 15 years, however it does not offer much variety in terms of colour and design. Gravel is very affordable but may need refilling over time. On the higher end of the price range is concrete and natural paving. Concrete offers durability and water runoff, while natural paving provides an attractive, durable finish as well as permeability.
