How much will it cost to install a swimming pool?
The cost of your swimming pool installation will depend on your pool’s dimensions, materials, the conditions of the installation site and whether you would like your pool to be in-ground or above-ground. Generally, swimming pool installations can range anywhere from $60,000 - $70,000+*. For a cost estimate accurate to your project specifications, please consult your local Zones Landscaping Consultant.
*Costs are rough estimates and are subject to change. For a cost estimate accurate to your specific requirements, please consult your local Zones Landscaping Consultant.
Will my swimming pool installation require council consent?
Your swimming pool installation might need both resource and building consent from the Auckland Council. Resource consent is sometimes required when the installation is likely to affect nearby residents and buildings. In-ground swimming pools with a capacity of 35,000 litres or less generally won’t need building consent. An above-ground pool may require building consent, depending on its height and water capacity. There are specific swimming pool fencing regulations in place to keep swimmers and young children safe, so a pool fence/barrier will most likely need to be installed. If this is the case, building consent will be required. For further information, please speak with your local Landscaping Consultant or visit www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz
What type of swimming pool should I choose?
Vinyl swimming pools are generally the most affordable short-term option but are not as durable as concrete and fibreglass. Concrete allows you to control the design, shape and style of your pool, while fibreglass is considered the most low-maintenance and durable option. Your Zones landscaping specialist can provide you with a comprehensive guide to your options, ensuring they are in-line with your budget and requirements.
