An outdoor lifestyle zone for all ages

The owners of this lovely Hobsonville property contacted Zones when they decided that it was time for an outdoor update. They wanted to be able to enjoy a covered outdoor living area complete with a built-in barbeque, a lawn for their children to play on, a spa pool to relax in, as well as a vegetable garden and utility area. 

In an initial consultation, local landscaping specialists Matt and Boyd Gillespie met with the homeowners to discuss how the Zones process could help them to achieve their ideas. Working with Zones meant that the family could begin the project with a firm timeframe and budget in place. They could also hand the design, build, planting, installations and project management over to Matt and Boyd.

Developing a new landscape design

Once they had clearly established their clients’ specifications, the Zones North Shore team produced a design. However, space limitations meant that the team had to get creative.

“Design-wise, there were a lot of features to fit within a relatively small space”, tells Matt. “We also had to match an internal kitchen splashback and incorporate it into the outside design.”

With a bit of innovation, the design was completed and presented to the homeowners. From there, a fixed-quote was approved and the landscaping began.
